With LSU losing to UGA tonight, Alabama can clinch its first outright SEC regular season title since 2002 with a win over Arkansas tomorrow.
Yeah I'm not so sure comparing this basketball team's "want to" to that of a decade long football dynasty is a fair expectation. I'm sure these kids don't spend one second wondering how they can be like the football team. Let's just let them do their thing as basketball players. We will see how bad they want it. Do they want it as much as the football team? We will see.

SEC Tournament is always a grind. Just have to hope that Kentucky avoids the 8/9 seed.Anyone else following these sec games? A lot of good basketball by 4 or five teams out there right now. Odds of us getting that tourney championship feel smaller to me now than before. Getting this one tonight will go a long way for our confidence and momentum. Really need to get back to playing our best ball these next few weeks!

The game tonight has nothing what so ever to do with football. If the talent difference were the same as the football teams we would be in good shape. Lets let our basketball team stand on their own-Bama just needs to take care of business in Arky tomorrow.

I'm looking for one of the best games of the year from Bama. And you know Arky gonna bring it at home. Should be a great game.
Harper:
Hasn’t it been like 10 years since Bama won a match up with both teams ranked? Bama #6 Arky #20?
Loss both ranked match ups with Oklahoma and Missouri?
Time to get over that hump?
I want KY again. I want 3 victories over them. That is something I am sure we have never had.SEC Tournament is always a grind. Just have to hope that Kentucky avoids the 8/9 seed.
Ok then. Whenever I see comparison of the two squads it reminds me of all of the folks who rush in to bball threads when Bama lose to bash the guys because they don't go undefeated like football does. Same people who will be ready to roast Oats if this team doesn't make it out of the first weekend. If none of that applies to you then I apologize. Rolltide. You missed the point by a mile. Has nothing to do with success. Has to do with desire and seeing if they can step their game up. Never said anything about them wondering how they can be like the football team. LOL
I was at that SEC tournament game. It was actually Elliot Washington who made the game winning shot from the corner.Who can forget Eric Richardson's shot at the end of the Arkansas game in the semi-finals of SEC tournament. That is one of the top ten shots that I have seen in Alabama history.
Does anyone have a picture of Porter Powers shot to beat Auburn in Garrett Coliseum. I think it may have been in 1963. In those days Alabama-Auburn played each year, twice in Garrett. Auburn would usually play Kentucky in Montgomery.

good or bad

You may think that was a stupid reply, but was just my opinion.I get a little touchy afterSuch a stupid reply. No one ever said it had anything to do with football. It was a Statement made saying will they step up like the football team did.
It would be great to beat Kentucky 3 times thoughSEC Tournament is always a grind. Just have to hope that Kentucky avoids the 8/9 seed.

basketball has been treated like a step child for so many years. At least you are a basketball
fan and take the time to post on the basketball forum.I respect your post and know you meant it in a good way.
