For me winning the UT game is # 1 on my list. I said earlier in the week I did not think UT could beat us unless we turned the ball over a lot and if UT played a clean game. UT had one turnover we had 2 UT had 1 penalty we had 5. Had you just told me those stats prior to the game I would never have guessed 49-10.
The Alabama team that played yesterday will be a tough out. The running game was tremendous and the defense put on a show. UT had to play some subs upfront but there were times we go push with a 3 man rush. Williams, Anderson and Allen could all start in the NFL TODAY.

Passing game is still a grade "C" to me and we have not proven we can use the downfield pass to set up the run. Think back to the LSU championship game where we used the pass to set up the run .. which we did not do in the loss to LSU. We have the WR, RB's (as pass catcherss) and TE to have a dynamic passing game. Jalen needs to get better but the good news is all he lacks is experience he has the maturity, intelligence and arm .. the bye week will be a big help imo.
Kicking game ... everyone points to a missed field goal and I agree ... but I held my breath every time they returned a kick ... UT gained MORE yards returning 6 kicks than they did on 63 snaps on offense.
There is not a team in the country who does not have areas to improve ... I watched a lot of Clemson and all of OSU ... both played good teams and a lot of faults were exposed. Louisville struggled with Duke ... if not for a roughing the kicker Duke has a chance to go down and win the game. Houston needed a fumble return and last minute stop to beat Tulsa. Michigan and Washington fared best ... they were off.
This is a BIG week for our guys. They must leave last week behind TODAY. A&M has had a week off and they will be the best team we have faced. We have 4 SEC games left and 3 are good teams who would not need the game of their life to beat us.
We deserve our # 1 ranking and if someone said you can only pick one team against the field for the NC ... the ONLY choice for me would be Alabama. Any voter who does not have BAMA at # 1 ... is doing so for attention.
