Alabama is bored playing against us
A travesty that we’ve let this once GREAT rivalry turn into a glorified scrimmage. I was born in ‘72, Alabama is the team I hate the worst! It sickens me to watch us try to compete with them.

never been a real rivalry since the 50's
We beat them all four years I was in school, 1967-70. The last two years by a combined score of 65-14. Those were the days.
since 1961 Tennessee is 18-40-2 vs Alabama. That is not a rivalry
We need to play them every year though, because "we are Tennessee" they say. Unfortunately, "we are Tennessee" has taken on a new connotation. It's very close to saying we are South Carolina, UK, Mizzou, etc. How do we rise above the mid to lower tier of the conference? Does getting hammered by Bama every year help us in any way? The futility of this current exercise has definitely pushed me in to my apathetic, safe place. I care, but its really easy to let go of the disappointment after yet another humiliating beat down.
