FRIDAY:
Bama moved to 7-0 yesterday with a 7-3 win against St. Thomas and a 3-1 win against Virginia in the opening day of the Bama Bash.
In the first game Alea Johnson started and pitched 3.1 innings allowing 3 runs on 2 hits 4 walks and 4 k’s. Jaala Torrence followed Johnson and was absolutely dominant striking out 9 of the 11 batters that she faced while not allowing any hits or runs and no walks either as she moves to 2-0 on the season.
Valentine homered for the Tide, Heivilin had a 2 run inside the park home run, Esman had a 2 run double and Duchscherer had a rbi double.
In game 2 Kayla Beaver moved to 3-0 on the season going 7 innings while allowing 1 run on 4 hits, 1 walk and striking out 6.
Esman had a 2 run HR to get the scoring going and Duchscherer had a rbi single to complete the scoring on the day.
