Right now the chances for a football season are in serious doubt. They tried to restart the NBA and they are already having new infections and they have not even tipped off.

On the positive side, everyone knows that two weeks ago Montgomery, Alabama, was the hot spot in the nation. On June 17th the Mayor imposed a mandatory facemask requirement. As of today the positive test infection rate has fallen by 60% in two weeks. While all of this cannot be attributed to facemask, while the infection rate in Alabama has reached an all time high yesterday, the rate in Montgomery is falling. CDC estimates that if everyone would wear facemask the rate would fall by 80%. You can still catch the virus if you wear a facemask; however the odds fall in your favor.

If the infection rate hits 100,000 a day, do you really believe there will be football with fans in the stands? If the infection rate falls to 15,000 a day, we just might have football as we know it.

In two weeks the rate reduced in Montgomery, so just imagine if the entire state wore mask.
