MJ Morris is 3-1 as a starter and NC State is now 6-3 overall (3-2 ACC) and he's now going to redshirt? This has D'Eriq King written all over it. If I had to guess then I'd say Morris will not be playing for NC State next season. 
NC State's starting quarterback MJ Morris will redshirt the 2023 season. Brennan Armstrong is already taking first-team reps with the program and is expected to be the starting quarterback the rest of the way. Morris was reportedly taking snaps with the scout team during Tuesday's practice.
Morris' decision comes after playing in four games (all starts), which is the maximum allowed to preserve a player's redshirt season. The news of Morris' decision comes after back-to-back wins for the Wolfpack over Clemson and Miami. State is 6-3 and 3-2 in the ACC.
In his four starts this season, Morris completed 63-of-113 passes (56 percent) for 719 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions.
