Apologies for the delay on this, wife had a serious allergic reaction to something so with her being pregnant we had to take every precaution and get her seen late Tuesday night. Things appear to be on the upswing there, but when she is down the whole house feels it so it has been a bit of an adjustment.

The numbers around the 2023 class are starting to get tight, and as a result timelines for decisions that once felt forever away are now growing closer in a hurry.

Alabama is set to host their biggest in-season recruiting weekend next week, with the Aggies heading into town.

Five-stars Keon Keeley and Cormani McClain headline a group of official visitors that is also expected to have TE Duce Robinson, as well as multiple prospects currently committed to other schools.

With a softer than usual home schedule for the Crimson Tide this season, this game is critical for Alabama in terms of recruiting.

One visitor that was thought to be OV'ing as well was Sharif Denson from Bartram Trail. The newness and discussion/hype from when he first added the offer have fallen off considerably, and as things stand right no,w he is one that I fully expect him to sign with Florida, the school he has been committed to since June.

Denson's visit is expected to now be an unofficial, which could lead to a return visit this off-season, but let's see if he actually shows up for the game before even considering the idea he may take an OV this off-season.

Sticking with the defensive back positions, Milton (Ga.) S Bryce Thornton made another tip to the Alabma campus over the weekend. Despite all of my sources considering him two weeks ago to be a lock for Florida, this one has had some twists and turns.

Per a source close to Thornton, he walked away from this trip looking at Alabama as a serious contender and a place he could see himself playing and being developed both on and off the field.

Thornton's excitement following his Alabama visit puts a cloud around the HUGE amount of optimism surrounding Florida coming off of his recent official visit there.

With a decision looming for October 13th, Thornton and his family are working to finalize a return visit to Alabama for the Texas A&M game next weekend, but Tide Illustrated is yet to confirm that to be the case.

Would Alabama take Thornton's commitment while so many other DB's remain on the board and available? I have my doubts, but this is one that primary recruiter Travaris Robinson could continue to "keep warm" all the way up until signing day.

That's another reason why Alabama did not burn his official there this past weekend, opting to go on an unofficial visit instead.

Robinson and Alabama have proven inside the state of Georgia in the 2023 class that they can get whoever they want in the state of Georgia, and Thornton is no different.

If Alabama pushes, whether that be now, November, or December leading up to signing day, Thornton can be had. At this time, though, all indications are that his decision next month will include orange, blue, and white.

Wrapping things up on this edition, Tide Illustrated recently spent more time with DL Daevin Hobbs to see where he's at following his weekend OV to Tennessee. The Vols are squarely in the mix now, but still chasing both Alabama and Georgia heading into the month of October.

Hobbs continues to hear regularly from both Coach (Joe) Cox and (Freddie) Roach. His relationship with both has grown in recent weeks, and some Alabama commits (Formby, Young, others) are also making a push for the four-star from North Carolina.

With his official visit coming up next month for the Mississippi State game, and an official set for UGA in early November, Alabama continues to set the tone in this recruitment.

Hobbs is planning to visit each school (Tennessee, Alabama, UGA) unofficially as well as officially before making a final decision, and though Alabama has to feel like they have the edge right now, things can certainly shift between now and November.

A dominant performance against the Vols in Knoxville on 10/15 could loom large.

Per a source close to Hobbs, a possible decision date is being discussed that would occur on Black Friday. There's a lot of smoke about whether or not Alabama would take Keeley, Smith, and Hobbs as they begin to run out of spots in the 2023 class.

After doing some further digging on this, and understanding the situation a bit more in-depth, I believe in a perfect world Alabama would in-fact add James Smith, Keon Keeley, and Daevin Hobbs as well as recently-offered Arion Carter and Qua Russaw at linebacker.

Next week, there will be an update to our TI Projected Class, but that's what I believe it would look like from a front-seven standpoint were Alabama to bat 1.000 to wrap up the class.
