Rylan Griffen

I know everybody is understandably focused on Grant Nelson (who basically morphed into Larry Bird last night)...but, my God...let's not forget that Rylan Griffen played a nearly flawless game!

He was hitting 3-point daggers all night...and - most importantly - he locked down the ACC player of the year with his fantastic defensive performance.

So damn proud of this team...GREAT GAME, Rylan!! 😋

Pace of the game vs NC

The first half seemed like it was extra fast. The first part of the 2nd half seemed a little slower and it picked up. It seemed like the Bama rotation was a little bit longer. And I think they got into our pace a little more than they needed to. And that hurt them down the stretch. Our pace is just different. It’s not the same fast that most fast teams play.

Hoops 🏀 SEC Basketball Pick’Em Thread

Hey guys! SEC play is finally here and I want to do a thread where everyone can pick the games every day and keep a running tally as the season goes. Also, we can use this thread for conversation on the SEC games going on as well.

Go back to your post you made your selections and add in your record at the bottom once the games are complete.

After today, I’m going to sticky this thread at the top so you don’t have to scroll and find it!

Here’s my picks today:

South Carolina over Miss St
Kentucky over Florida
Missouri over Georgia
Auburn over Arkansas
Texas A&M over LSU
Tennessee over Ole Miss
Alabama over Vanderbilt.

5-2 Not a bad start!

Yesterday was a pretty good day for BAMA Sports!

The tremendous Basketball victory was an All-Timer in BAMA Basketball History!
The Baseball team come from behind victory over a very good South Carolina team was huge!
But not all went well yesterday!
The softball team losing to a previous 0-6 Kentucky team was a bummer!
Hopefully the girls will bounce back and beat the Wildcats today!
As Coach Oats said yesterday “Let’s enjoy the Victory’s for 30 minutes”
ROLL TIDE ROLL!

How much longer will the State Legislature Continue to hurt Alabama Universities.

For years Alabama Schools have been hurt by the failure to possess an education lottery. When a program is dependent on minority athletes, and your schools are at a financial disadvantage due to NIL, your University and State must offer something in addition to money. A university needs to be a welcoming place, where each and every student can get the education the student might desire..

The Legislature needs to let the educators teach and they need to think about the interest of the people of Alabama and not their contributors. I’m sorry, but I want Politics out of education. I couldn’t give a darn about DEI, African American Studies, or other Minority programs, as I only cared about Economics. I still only care about economics and if something is bad for athletics, it is bad for economics. If you don’t believe me, look at the names on our basketball and football rosters.

The Legislature need to get politics out of education, both ways.

I am so freakin happy

Bama athletics haven’t pumped me up like this in a long time. How bout that team that nobody believed in, and the player that everybody hated (myself included)????? Just make it to the tournament baby!!!!!! So many guys showed so much more than we have seen in the past 6 weeks with back-to-back defensive efforts that we haven’t seen all season. Most importantly this team is believing in themselves on both ends of the court. Roll Tide!!!

Baseball ⚾️ Lost in the hoopla the baseball team had a huge series opening win 4-3 against SCe

Great rebound win after that mess last weekend.

SCe kind of gave it to us with a wild pitch in the 8th to get us a 1 run lead.

They started their Fri night starter and we sent a freshman out there in Adams. We pitched three freshman tonight.

"It wasn't the prettiest win, but they don't all have to be. It's about being gritty. I told the boys after that game that I want to be the grittiest and toughest group on the field, and I thought we showed a lot of toughness and resiliency out there tonight. It was a great start to the weekend, but we got two more big games ahead of us."

Fun night, baseball game on the cell phone and basketball on TV.

Bama vs UNC prediction thread

You just never know which team is going to show up but one thing is for certain, this isn’t Charleston or Grand Canyon. If I am UNC my entire game plan is focused on stopping Mark Sears and daring Estrada, Writesell, Griffen, and Nelson to beat me from three. I would actually back 15 feet off of Nelson and let him shoot it every time. I’ve doubted this team several times this year and they’ve made me look silly. I’ll gladly eat crow again.

Football 🏈 DeBoer raves over Milroe's dual-threat ability following first scrimmage

“He’s tough to handle. He’s just so extremely fast. You think you kind of have him bottled up, and he just runs right around you."
