“My visit went great. I feel really good rn with how things stand with Alabama, I think I can do alot In the offense and really contribute early.”

Jefferson will take his official visit on June 9-11th.

Alabama in deep discussions with Ryan Pannone

Pannone is a current assistant coach with the New Orleans Pelicans. Former Wallace State CC coach and head coach of the Birmingham Squadron.

Will be completely shocked if this doesn’t happen from what I’m told.

If you have studied basketball and ever coached, you’ve likely heard of Ryan Pannone as he is one of the brightest basketball minds in the business.

He has worked in college, Euroleague, G League, China, and most recently the NBA.

Elite guy to have on staff.

What Nick Saban said after the second spring scrimmage

Nick Saban speaking after today's second scrimmage: "I think we made progress. I think we made improvement. ... We had some good plays and some bad plays."

Nick Saban said Alabama was "a little up and down today." The good plays were really good, but there were some bad plays as well.

He added that the team needs to eliminate the bad plays before they evaluate the good.

Saban on the QBs: "They both made some good plays, but they also made some plays that they probably wish they had back. But they're making progress."

Nick Saban on Alabama freshman RB Justice Haynes: "If you were just a guy sitting on the log watching, you'd never know he was a freshman."

Saban said Alabama generated "four or five turnovers" during today's scrimmage.

Nick Saban talking leadership: "The offensive line has done the best job on our team of creating the kind of toughness, intangible character we'd like our team to play with."

Saban on Kristian Story: "I think that he knows what he's doing. I think he's got to learn to play with a consistent, high level of intensity. ... He's got really good ball skills. He's really instinctive. We just want to see him have the juice that a starter has all the time."

Practice today.

QBs. Milroe took more reps with the 1’s. I thought he was a bit ahead of 15. Both looked sharp. Milroe has electric speed as we all know.
Both guys stayed in the pocket and you could tell were really protecting the ball.

Receiver. We are super deep. 80 took in an awesome one handed grab during their 2 minute period. I really can’t say one stood out more than the other. Each receiver looked great.I am not exaggerating here. 17/19/7/80/11/3 all were solid The only real drops I saw were from the TEs. Amari N was in a black jersey. He didn’t participate.

OLine. Proctor is a man. He’s got long arms. He’s a natural fit. The first five are solid. The new freshman have great size. I stood right beside them. They are huge guys but you can tell they are a bit raw.

Running Backs 2,5 and 22 all looked fantastic. 26 was limited with his hamstring.

Defense.
The ones that jumped off the page at me were Burroughs. Man he exploded off the ball with power. Oatis was nasty in the middle. Justin E didn’t look super sharp. He seems a bit slow. One of the Tim’s was blowing stuff up in the middle. Which ever one is 50 was impressive.
DB’s. Koolaid was lock down. He’s the Alpha. 3 was lockdown as well. Most completions seemed to come off of secondary reads over the middle or check downs.
LBers. Not much of a sample size. 17 was not impressive at all. I’m not sure if he’s lost. He did seem to have a tweak in his hamstring or something. I didn’t see a ton on the backers. The dome makes it tough at times to see everything. Sorry.

Edge guys. No report here. Just too much to watch. We look fast on the edges.

Energy. Amazing. It was a very enthusiastic practice for sure

One thing that stood out is if you were in the four deep you got a ton of reps. The practice never slowed down. It was constant movement. No wasted time.

Coach Saban and the assistants all coached their butts off.

Sorry if there are any misspelled words or poor grammar.

Football Recruiting Alabama Weekend Visitors (4/15)

Alabama has a large group of visitors in town this weekend, primarily from the standpoint of "star power". Here are a few names to keep an eye on coming out of the weekend -

Bussey has spoken about Alabama being a contender in his recruitment. Getting Bussey to make the trip says a great deal about where Alabama truly stands.

Poe has made his long-awaited return to Alabama. The coaches visited Poe in Lindale, Texas, but Poe always said he was sure to return when the timing was right. Poe has close connections to the program. He's certainly a name to watch on the trail as things progress.

There is serious interest here on both ends.

Johnson-Rubell has a strong relationship with Coach Jones. Jones coached Rubell while at IMG, so there is a strong connection. This weekend presents a great opportunity to put themselves in a strong position, with Texas seeming to have a fair amount of momentum.

Harris is a lengthy yet explosive prospect who's only scratching the surface of his potential. He's yet to receive an offer from Alabama, but that could change very soon.

Crader is currently committed to Oregon but has been in communication with the staff. Is this visit enough to flip him is tough to say, but he could walk away with an offer.

Frazier has yet to visit Alabama, with this being his first visit. Keep an eye on the dynamic California running back. He already has an offer, and this visit could be just what he needed.

Jefferson just included Alabama in his Top 12, but with that list set to be reduced, Jefferson wanted to get on campus to confirm his standing with the staff.

Fresh off his commitment, Short should bring good energy and create an environment to have other guys comfortable about Alabama.

Bama @ MSU Softball

Bama wins 4-3. Fouts gets the win striking out 9 while walking 1. Fouts did give up a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 7th. Fouts now has 232 K'S on the year and a 16-6 record with a 1.53 ERA.
On another note ex Bama player Skylar Wallace who left Bama for UF had 2 homers with 7 RBI'S tonight against Georgia. Wallace is hitting .458 with 4 2B-8 3B & 12 HR'S with 42 RBI'S. 21 out of 22 SB'S, How in the hell did Murphy let this lady get away? Hope we get the sweep on MSU cause we need it. RTR!!!

Milroe, Simpson 'making progress' after second spring scrimmage

After an offensive barrage in Alabama's first spring scrimmage, Nick Saban said the quarterbacks weren't as consistent on Saturday.

"They both made some good plays, but they both made some plays that they probably wished they could have had back."

Bama Baseball…..

Bo will not be fired at season’s end but still- nothing ever changes for Tide in SEC play.

Lose at home tonight 8-4 ( trailed 8-0 to a pretty average Barn team) and are now 4-9 in league play and really doubt they even make it to Hoover.

Not gonna beat the no lottery/ out of state tuition not being waived banner tonight.

But just seems no one really cares- which I find really sad.

College baseball is a great sport/ but the apathy that exists in Tuscaloosa is just sad.

Idiotic OV Rule Change by NCAA-I Have A Question

Apparently the NCAA is going to allow kids to take unlimited OV's. l know that means recruits can take all the OV'S they are offered, but will they still be limited to 1 OV per school.

This rule is gonna cost somebody alot of money. Makes no sense to me. May be a case of the NCAA trying to head off another lawsuit.
