Alabama Women’s non conference basketball

Schedule is a complete joke and and embarrassment. How does Kristi Curry get away with scheduling this garbage? She plays one Power 5 team ( California) and that is it.

Non conference schedule includes: New Orleans, Alabama A & M, Troy, Norfolk St, Alcorn St, La Monroe, Alabama St, Georgia St, California, Murray St, and Jacksonville.

This with supposedly her best team ever. Not even challenging the team by playing good competition. Padding her record by playing nothing but patsies. Just like she always has in Tuscaloosa. Pitiful.
How does Greg Byrne let her get away with this crap?

Football 🏈 How Tyler Booker became Alabama's loudest voice

Feature on Tyler Booker, the place and people that influenced his leadership and how that leadership has been vital to Alabama in Kalen DeBoer's first season.

Really enjoyed talking with Tyler's father and one of his youth coaches for this. Hope y'all enjoy reading!

Hoops 🏀 Day After Reaction: Alabama Sneaks By McNeese St

Another game, another 20 point lead that Alabama nearly let slip away and had to hold on to. It happens where elite teams get up big on inferior opponents and then coast, but Alabama has played two of the best mid major teams in the country the past two games, and they could’ve easily lost after those big leads. Give credit to McNeese St,as they’re almost assuredly going to win their conference again, on not quitting and making a game of it in the second half.

Alabama did a lot of things well, but they obviously have things to work on. Right now, shots just aren’t falling which won’t always be the case. I thought they ran great stuff last night and had 16 assists on 22 made shots to prove it. They’re getting good looks, just not knocking them down. One thing I’m very impressed with is their defensive intensity. They have 9-10 guys that all take pride defensively. You can tell that was an emphasis this offseason.

Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, and Latrell Wrightsell led the way scoring, but Labaron Philon had another great game too. They’ll have different guys step up each game, but the big 3 will always be the engine of the team.

Now, Alabama begins their gauntlet of 6 games starting with a road game with Purdue. They’ll need to make shots that game obviously, but I think Alabama matches up incredibly well with the Boilermakers. 3-3 or better these next 6 is the goal.

My Bama HERO

My dad has been my hero as long as I can remember. He LOVES Bama more than anyone I've ever met, and I've met some legends! We have watched every Bama game together less the games I went to with the boys(he's too old to travel anymore) for the last 35 years.

I like to drink, but had too much for the 2009 Natty(i was nervous). I knew it ruined the night for him, I've never drank a drop until after the game on Saturdays since. Saban had us playing ALOT of prime-time games over the last 16 years...

This morning he had a heart attack and my world stopped. I couldn't breathe. My mind went to church when I was seven tugging on his pants leg guiding me around as he talked to so many folks. The Bama games where we didn't have the money for hotel rooms and after the mess getting out of T-town made the trip back to Evans GA. Those long rides talking about every play.

Fast forward to now, his grandson playing highschool football his freshman year. My pop at every practice, regardless of the weather. Not every game...EVERY PRATICE. His Bama gear on yelling. Me telling him Pop you have to stop or they will stop letting us watch.

He is in stable condition tonight at the hospital. They will run tests in the morning to see if they have to do a cath. Today, I wasn't worried about the playoffs, I wasn't worried about Roberts injury and I didn't think twice about the linebacker depth. Time stood still.

As I left the hospital tonight, I was reminded that I forget to update him on the playoff rankings for Bama last night! I love my dad!! Roll Tide!!

Sorry, I just needed a place to say it...

Hoops Recruiting Davion Hannah Nugget

4 ⭐️ G Davion Hannah will be announcing his commitment at his high school on Friday. He’s a top 40 player and at 6’5 provides great length and versatility at the combo guard position. I’ve liked Alabama’s position with Hannah for a month or so now, and I think Alabama lands him on Friday.

Football 🏈 LIVE UPDATES: "Hey Coach" Kalen DeBoer show

First segment

On LSU game: "We had a little bit of everything. But the main thing is that we executed just play, after play, after play."

On Alabama's defense: "They've done a great job of creating the mindset that one rep is too many." Said the defense harassed Garrett Nussmeier from start to finish and praised the increase in takeaways

Justice Haynes and Jam Miller will join the show at 7 p.m.

DeBoer said the bubble screen to Kendrick Law on third down on the first drive of the game was big.

DeBoer said he remembered thinking the rain was coming down a bit harder right before the Jalen Milroe throw to Ryan Williams: "That did cross my mind and I don't think it had as much of an impact, but yeah, we just missed."

DeBoer on kickoff struggles: "That was one area we fell short from what we normally do. But a lot of other areas gaining momentum."

On Jalen Milroe: "Hitting guys on stride is the difference between a first down and coming up a yard short or a touchdown and a yard short. He did a nice job of making the simple things simple." Said Milroe has continued to focus on ball security and improved on fundamentals.

DeBoer on Jaeden Roberts who went out injured: "He could have come back we just didn't want to push it. He's working through the week and doing everything he can to get on the field Saturday. So I think it's promising that he'll be available, ready to go in some capacity."

Football 🏈 Could Robbie Ouzts take a handoff for Alabama?

Robbie Ouzts is happy with his role as the blue-collar worker of Alabama’s offense. The senior prides himself in doing the “dirty work” while delivering blocks out of the H-back and tight end positions.

Still, there’s a part of him that wouldn’t mind running in a touchdown himself one day. While the thought of the 6-foot-4, 270-pounder taking a carry seems strange, it might not be too far-fetched.

Hoops Recruiting BREAKING: Amari Allen signs with Alabama

Four-star small forward Amari Allen has confirmed to Tide Illustrated that he has signed with Alabama this morning. Allen is the No. 64 player in the Class of 2025. He committed to Alabama back in September over Nevada, Mississippi State, UCF, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

"I’ve been 100% locked in on Bama but it feels good to make it official."

Allen visited in August during the first football weekend and will attend Alabama's game against Purdue on Friday. He hails from Alabama coach Nate Oats' home state of Wisconsin and plays for Ashwabenon (I'd love to hear how y'all would pronounce this) High School.

The early signing period started Wednesday and will run for a week ending on Nov. 20. The late signing period begins April 16 through May 21, 2025. Alabama is also looking to secure the signature of its other commit, four-star SF London Jemison.

Playoff Committee’s SEC Two loss team Problem

The playoff committee might well have an SEC problem. At the present time it is mathematically possible that the SEC has seven two loss teams. In the SEC it is possible for aTM, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Ole Miss and Alabama to all be two loss teams. In the BIG10 it looks like PennState, Indiana, Ohio State and Oregon will probably all have two losses or less.

Notre Dame is in, without playing another decent team. A non power five team is in. An ACC and BIG 12 team are in. In short that means there are possibly seven teams for four spots, all having legitimate arguments. Of course South Carolina could eliminate Missouri this weekend and Tennessee could eliminate Georgia, Texas could eliminate aTm and there would be no problem; however ther could be seven two loss SEC teams, with two playing in the SECCG and who knows how that tie breaker would work.

Now, exactly what happens if Indiana beats Ohio State? What happens if BYU and Miami do not win the Big 12 and ACC? If you are looking for the best 12, it is not going to happen.

I feel that I must now do the unthinkable. I must pull for Texas and Tennessee to win out and meet in the SECCG. Let me set the record straight, I will pull for the ayatollah before I pull for Tennessee.

In the mean time we have Mercer, Oklahoma and the Barn to beat or nothing matters.

Football 🏈 Richard Young making the most of his limited opportunities at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Maybe you turned off your television set by the final minutes of Alabama’s 42-13 victory over LSU this past weekend. The majority of Tiger Stadium had already emptied, as fans made way for the exits to escape the rain and get an early start on the postgame traffic.

Richard Young, on the other hand, was just getting started.

Buried in a deep Alabama backfield the redshirt freshman has to make the most of his limited opportunities. Lately, that’s been providing an exclamation point during blowout wins for the Crimson Tide.

“Honestly man, I’ll just be on the sidelines stretching and looking,” Young said when asked about waiting for his turn in games. “When my opportunity comes, I’ve just got to go. That’s just it at the end of the day. I’ve got to do my part.”
