great wins over Tennessee in the 70's-- we came back an scored to make it 10-9. we then went for one with less than 3 minutes to go. we get a stop with a turn over and terry davis takes it in on a long run.
11-10. we score late, go for 2 and make it. they then drive it down field and miss a 20 yard field goal. coach bryant growled after the game-- if they had kicked it strait we have have blocked it-- the film the next day showed he was right
the reason i bring this up is--we look back on those games and many other close games as great wins by great players and great coaches on great teams. YET we come back and score on a clutch drive late in the 4th qt in 2015 to take a 19-15 lead. we then get clutch play by our great defense and get a turn over to secure the win. difference is we sit around and talk about how bad we played. how sorry our o-line coach is. how bad our o-line is. horrible O.C. that can not call plays. heads need to roll.
