Alabama landed a surprise commitment to the 2020 class in 4-star 6’11 PF Alex Tchikou. Tchikou is a Kevin Durant-type of player and has tremendous potential. He shoots it well from deep, handles the ball great for his size, and can also protect the rim.
What does this commitment mean?
Alabama is now full in terms of scholarships. Barring John Petty returning, the roster is now set heading into the 2020 season. Tchikou is a one-and-done type of player, but he has his eyes set on playing two years.
Alabama has never had a big man who could pass, dribble, and shoot at the size of Tchikou and as well as he does. He will be a unicorn for Alabama fans and will bolster a frontcourt that had a lot of question marks heading into the season. Huge addition for an already elite class.
