What are your early thoughts on the defense next year. I’ve seen things about Sabb returning. DeBoer all but said Jefferson was coming back for his juco year deal. The big questions will be whether 22 comes back on the DL and 1 comes back at corner. Other than that, we return so much. We obviously lose Campbell and Moore. Lawson is a question but if he comes back, we will definitely lose some young backers in the portal bc we’d have Lawson, Jefferson and the Colorado transfer.
The staff did a good job playing a lot of guys early and more often and developed more depth, even on the DL. I think the DL takes a step forward this year.
I think the defense has a chance to be really good in year two of the new system and with them identifying some guys that fit the system themselves. If 22 and 1 come back, huge deals.
If the D can do their part while the QB deal gets figured out, it could be good.
