This is a tough one. I was going to name Butch Henry, and old favorite, but at Alabama I can only think of one running back that wore #80. 55 years ago, Wilbur Jackson accepted a scholarship to Alabama. The rest is history.
When I think of Wilbur Jackson, I think of the pass against UCheat and the VPI game of 1973. Wilbur had a 76 yard run on A carry that is officially credited to Richard Todd. Wilbur stepped out on the 7 yard line, so he did not score on the play. Under the scoring rules, Todd crossed the line of scrimmage before the pitch, so the carry went to Todd and the yardage after the pitch went to Wilbur.
That game is the Alabama record for the most points Alabama ever scored against a D1 school.
