"I made my decision a couple of days ago. It was close but I prayed about it and talked to my parents and this is what felt right. It feels great right now.
"My goals right now are to help (Jemison) win a state championship and then get to Bama and be ready to go."
From Jack Doss, his coach at Mae Jemison, asked about "the transition" to college for JP: "There is no transition. I mean, he needs to get stronger, maybe a little quicker to play defense like all (high school) players do. But as far as his ability to compete at that level, he's ready today. I think he would start for (Alabama) right now."
