My wife and I were invited to accompany one of our good friends--who happens to be a Michigan graduate and fairly substantial donor--on a trip to Ann Arbor for the Michigan-Ohio State game this weekend. That game starts at 11:00 AM Central Time and should be over by the time the Iron Bowl kicks off at 2:30 CST. My friend has arranged for us to watch the first half of the Iron Bowl at the stadium and has arranged to get us to our hotel by the time the second half starts. If all this works out, it will be the greatest day of college football that I have experienced in my 84 years. I am hoping that Michigan routs OSU and , of course, that Bama stomps AU. If it works out that way, we may party til dawn--or at least, to the wee hours. Or we may recognize our limitations and be in bed by 8:00 o'clock.
