Here is my first installment of Alabama Football Hot 11. New to the scene, don't know as much as you, but these are the guys which stood out most to me during Tuesday's Practice. I will not compile these every practice, but I will throw an updated Alabama Football Hot 11 out every once in a while.
Early Enrollee Tyrell Shavers at 6-foot-6 and 209 pounds shined on day 1
In No Order
#14 Tyrell Shavers
Moves very well and gets through cuts with ease which is impressive for a receiver standing 6-foot-6 and 209-pounds. What I liked most, he caught the football and turned it up the field.
#2 Jalen Hurts - Quarterback
The clear favorite to start at the quarterback spot and rightfully so. Looks very comfortable, looks poised, and is your typical field general. I personally liked his drop backs and throwing motion today.
#13 Tua Tongovailoa
He’s got a ways to go, but from the few minutes that I watched of him today, he is better than Mac Jones. Looks similar size to Jalen, was hoping up in drills, but have to say his delivery is not outstanding.
#24 Terrell Hall
Tony has mentioned good things about Hall and at 6-foot-5, 251 pounds, he looks like a real man out there. I saw a lot of power coming from him today and I liked how he attacked the sled from the down position.
#69 Joshua Frazier
I really do not know much about Fraizer, still learning my way through the roster, so forgive my lack of knowledge, but today he looked big and nasty. At 6-foot-4, 315 pounds, maybe he is someone else we can talk about in that defensive line rotation?
#84 Hale Hentges
Really liked watching Hentges today. Had his hand down in the dirt with the hogs and came off firing. Standing 6-foot-5, 251 pounds, he moves very well. Did not see him catch a pass, but liked what I saw during the rapid fire media viewing.
#67 Josh Cashier
Maybe an undersized offensive linemen at 6-foot-1, 297 pounds, Cashier was an offensive linemen that stood by firing off the football. Did not see a ton of linemen action, but looking through video Cashier stood out.
#94 D’Ron Payne
It was very evident that 6-foot-2, 304-pound D’Ron Payne was the man during drills. Superior strength, violent, and everything you would want in a defensive linemen taking on Florida State in the months to come.
#99 Raekwon Davis
For real? 6-foot-7, 303 pounds? He doest not look like he weighs 303 pounds to me he wears that weight very well. Looks furious. Cannot wait to see him in full pads.
#29 Minkah Fitzpatrick
As the media was told to leave I quickly caught an eye of Minkah, it was my first time watching him and I don’t have to tell you what you already know. He’s a baller.
#42 Keith Holcombe
Ok, here is my sleeper pick of the day. Was going through film and Holcombe looks very aggressive, good size at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds and is a 2-year letterman right out of good ole’ Tuscaloosa.
