- A true dual-threat quarterback who has been effective with his arm and legs all season
- Totaled 565 yards and 16 touchdowns on 114 rushes while adding 2,046 yards and 13 scores on 149-of-221 passing with only six interceptions
- Averaging 290.1 yards of offense per game, good for fourth in the SEC and 15th nationally
- Responsible for 176 total points and 19.6 points per game to lead the conference and rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in Division I for both categories
- Alabama has had two O’Brien winners in its history, first with Mac Jones (2020) followed by Bryce Young (2021)
- The Crimson Tide has had five winners of the Maxwell Award, including AJ McCarron (2013), Derrick Henry (2015), Tua Tagovailoa (2018), DeVonta Smith (2020) and Young (2021)
