Okay why did Saban even ANSWER that question and what the heck was the point other than to try and get a soundbite? I think many of you know I am quite liberal but my family is very old South with a great and great grandfather who fought for the South and I am getting VERY tired of the Southerner bashing.
Now, I know how the flag has been desecrated by racists and I would not go flying in it in my yard, at a game, etc. out of respect for how black Americans perceive it but if I hear one more hated-speech comment that anyone who says it is about heritage is a lying bigot, I think I'll lose it on them (verbally).
How about a little respect for diversity....both ways...people. Even today, NAACP in Atlanta called for destruction of the Stone Mountain carvings. This is beyond bordering absurd and I wish Saban had just simply refused to join in on a topic not related to Bama football.
