Mandate private school championship games in AHSAA be played only against member private schools and not public schools but yet each could play during the regular season. The primary reasoning behind this rule is that private schools can recruit and a 1:35 ratio per student is assigned at this time to justify their classification level in the AHSAA. Public schools cannot recruit and if caught get fined or as we have seen in the Muscle Schoals situation where a coach was banned from coaching.
I think its is beginning to be a big imbalance especially concerning small public school programs and in the case of Mobile, Huntsville and Montgomery areas it is affecting the large public schools.
