Alabama running back commit Jace Clarizio has flipped his commitment back to Michigan State, according to multiple reports. Alabama was the only other school the East Lansing, Michigan native visited and he has chosen to stay home on signing day. Alabama made quick work of his recruitment, bringing him in for an official visit for the Mercer game after offering on Nov. 6. Michigan State has, of course, remained a constant player here and ultimately the appeal to stay home won out in the end.
The Tide still has one running back commit in the 2025 class, No. 3 RB Akylin Dear from Mississippi. Dear's recruitment has been shut down since September and he is expected to sign today.
Alabama now ranks No. 4 in the Rivals Team Rankings after the flip. Still some room for the Tide to rise if it secures its own flips during the early period.
