Went with prospect and family got a good view of some drills and 1 on 1's. Need to train this little baby below up some Kendell Jones 6-5 363 Sq. 800 BP near 500. He was unstoppable in about 15 trips 1 on1. Griff Gentry DE Homewood HS was to pretty much- 1 stop I think. Really impressed with performance of The Hulk, Griffin, Rackwon Davis DL Ms. who is tall but not near as developed as Hulk. RD still performed well winning most of his reps.
OL's - really liked Birdyshaw, Walker- soph OK 6-6 318 should be a 5 star in future, Troxell was mostly good in his reps but beat some, Little OL - Episcopal got a lot of work to do based just on the 1 on 1's Sat. - sure he will get there, the coaches was really giving him opportunities.
Of the 300+ kids, maybe 20-25 looked SEC level and who were pulled out to test them further. Coaches worked very hard at that point. Davis- DL coach was very impressive to me, and I am not easily impressed, but he is much better in my mind now than I previously had pictured of him. Great Technique teacher, and likes power rushing by his DL's. Cristobal equally impressive- just had a lot less to work with on this day- more younger kids- huge, but underdeveloped for this group of DL's.
Saw lots of varsity guys in shorts- none of the big guys rival the Hulkster- he needs to stay where he is at and any increase would be good.
Saw Derrick Henry followed by the freshman Damien Harris who is more impressive physically right now, that Henry to me and I know that says a lot. Shorter but powerfully built. In fact he is almost a carbon copy of #15 for Ohio State that ran over Ragland on goal line then went 85. Even in the head they look alike mostly and that ain't bad. I was very impressed with his look- think he has been getting ready for action. roll tide
