ESPN showed a replay of the Bama/LSU earlier today....

and like a masochist, I watched it again. Gary Danielson said something midway into the game about "sloppy" and "mistake-ridden" being ways to describe Bama's play in the game. Bama's defense has been a MASH for much of the year so shooting yourselves in the foot countless times against the #2 team in the country (at the time) supplied the predictable results. Diggs got an early INT only to have it negated for too many men on the field, punter mishandles a punt, several dropped passes from Tua, etc.etc.etc....

It also showed me something else. Against its two toughest opponents, Bama played sloppy, mistake-ridden, penalty-plagued football. They've got one more shot at playing their best game of the year against a quality opponent when they face Michigan in the Citrus on Jan 1st. Can't help but think back to the '10 season when Bama underachieved that year as well (by Bama standards). After the IB loss, they regrouped and turned in their best performance of the year by destroying Michigan St. 49-7..........in the Citrus Bowl.
