Safeway Open in Napa Valley is the first event in the 2017/18 season. While it won't feature the truly top players, like Golfer of the Year Justin Thomas, there will be a lot of ex-Bama golfers looking to get their years started well

The U of Alabama golf team is off this week and host the Jerry Pate National next week in Vestavia Hills. I said they were stacked and now people are taking notice as they rocketed from 19th in first poll all the way up to #4 in the country. In their two tournaments this season the have finished 1st and 2nd with aTm (#1 in nation) the only team to beat them in either tournament.

I haven't seen the full starting tee times yet so might miss someone but for sure Bud Cauley, Bobby Wyatt, Trey Mullinax, Tom Lovelady and Dicky Pride are playing this week so the Tide are very well represented at the Safeway Open.
