Well I’m ready to see him play somewhere and see what he can and can’t do. Harper says he can’t guard anyone. Not sure how that kept him off the court. He would have fit right in.
I might be the only one but I like Gary ; I hope he stays.
Holt would benefit from more touches and another school could offer him playing time
I want Gary to stay, but you know he had to be frustrated seeing Rojas get minutes that should have been his. Hopefully he’s not so unhappy that he decides to leave.
I’ll be upset if Gary leaves. He’s the kind of guy you need to go with scorers and shooters and such. He just doesn’t need to be standing in the corner trying to space the floor. That’s not his thing.
I love Gary and also hope he stays. I’m convinced he was never close to 100% this season
I keep telling myself that Gary, Ambrose, and Gurley are bandaids. However, Oats is going to have to either show the ability to adapt to these bandaids or do a better job of recruiting to his style. Neither Gary nor Gurley (or anybody of similar talents) will have any success playing for Nate Oats other than 6-8 points off of put backs and free throws.
I’m not against a guy like Gary that does the dirty work and gets 6-8 points on putbacks. Seems like that’s the kind of guys we need in the dunkers spot and defending and rebounding. I know he can offensive rebound. He can screen and roll and finish. He just doesn’t need to be playing the 4 if the all the 4 does is stand in the corner to space the floor.
Me either, but you need 1 of those guys, not 3 that you hope can be that guy. If Gary could figure out how to play defense without fouling I think he could be like Alex Reese but more athletic. Reese really improved once he realized he didn't have to feel so pressured to score and that the offense could run through him a little bit. With that being said the line-up has to be such to allow for these guys to thrive. Can't have Gurley, Gary, and Miles on the court at the same time and expect high quality shots.
Gary will never play without fouling with how our guards defended. No big could play without fouling with them.
If Gurley and Miles can’t play with Gary, they need to go. They are suppose to be able to shoot. I still can’t believe we had that many guys that can’t shoot. Couldn’t figure out all year why we had so many bigs either, regardless of whether they could shoot or not. We need more guards.
