That used to be a big part of Petty game, driving the ball. This team has some streaky shooters like Petty, Shack, and Primo. How do you get streaky shooters going? Get them some easy layups or free throws. Come into the game with a few set plays you are confident in to get those guys going.
2-0I've said all year. The SEC isn't set up for us.
doesn't matter when you beat a top 10 team. Oats ball shut em down. The effort tonight and lately has been amazing!Still missing too many FTs.
This, I like this brand where it's a mix of trying to get to the basket, play D, and hit a few timely 3s. Gotta make the FTs, that can kill you in close games. We have just played different as a whole. I don’t even feel like it’s just playing better on offense or defense. I feel like our approach has been better on both ends.
That wasn’t exactly the Oats ball we’ve seen before. We were more patient on offense. Didn’t shoot the first 3 we saw. Which helped us play better defense.doesn't matter when you beat a top 10 team. Oats ball shut em down. The effort tonight and lately has been amazing!

the last few games with great spacing going 5 wide driving and dishing with good d. It doesn't happen over night like most wanted. BUT ITS HEREThat wasn’t exactly the Oats ball we’ve seen before. We were more patient on offense. Didn’t shoot the first 3 we saw. Which helped us play better defense.
I haven’t seen us play with that kind of patience on offense under Oats. And without throwing up threes just bc.100

Petty has to find more shots. Feel like I’ve said it 100 times. We aren’t going to win if he doesn’t.Quinnerly and Petty are key to this team winning. Great team win overall, but got to have these two hitting shots and Quinn controlling the offense.
Yeah I think the that’s why Reese didn’t see a lot of action late. Haha! I’m not a Reese basher, but I think he had one rushed 3 that wasn’t necessary and Coach had these guys patient tonight.I haven’t seen us play with that kind of patience on offense under Oats. Very proud and great win. Just enjoy it!Wonder if all the folks saying JD should go play overseas has anything to say after this game? It’s almost like people should have been a little patient with all these new players before they judged this team. Just beat a top 10 team on the road. This is what this team is capable of. So proud of them.
Yeah seems to be the case every year with whoever is coaching. Our “shooters” struggle at the line and that’s never good. Not to complain but we need to be more consistent on FT's. Could have put them away ealrier if we made those
Awful finisherHerb Jones QUIT GOING TO THE BASKET WEAK! The kid is 6'7 and loves to lay the ball over the rim, which is why he gets rejected sooooo much! If you're already up above the rim DUNK THE DAMN BALL! 🤦♂️🤦♂️😡🤬
While I’m not a fan of how aggressive we usually are on defense, our offense usually makes defense hard. We usually shoot so fast and attempt so many 3’s. Both of those can easily have a negative effect on defense. And it gives the other team more possessions too. Our patience on offense tonight had a positive impact on our defense. What a great win and completely different style than normal. GREAT defense and patient offense. I think Oats has determined we don't have the speed to get up and down the floor like last year and is going to win with a style like tonight. Still scored over 70. Also, we really fought hard for rebounds. Beat Florida next week and we are in much better shape than we were expecting.
Mississippi st 2004When was the last time we beat a top ten team on the road?
Great win for Nate and company.
