Wide open street ball vs high IQ fundamentally sound basketball. Less athletic team won.
This is the history of Alabama basketball. It always happens. Should Bama beat Davidson? Not by allowing 54% percent shooting.
Figured out offensive philosophy make one pass then shoot if you’re hot, if not hot shoot till you get hot; if that doesn’t work make one pass then drive to the hole and throw one up on the glass; if fouled try to make 1 of 2
Same thing happened to us last year but we had two NBA first rounders on a team that had a lot more experience and more experience playing together. JD’s hurt so leave him alone about the one and done negativity. JS/JG/JQ/KE have to collectively step up with their leadership and their play on BOTH ends. Conference play is going to be difficult…I would take a double digit conference win total and a 8 or better seed today and take my chances from there. Just like last season we are capable of a great run and hopefully we will find that run at the end of the year.
Agree. Shack and JQ need to stop playing me ball. Last year if we got behind we started moving the ball to get open looks. This year Shack n Q make it a one on one game. At some point we are gonna have to look at Oats and ask where tf is our half court offense when we are struggling from 3. Running is all good when youre hitting shots n youve got the opposing D on their heals. But when youre struggling its just wasting possessions.
This team isn’t as good as last seasons.

Everyone will shoot 50% on us when half their shots are dunks, layups, or alley oops… we’ve got to shut those down and make teams shoot to beat us
Davidson shot 50% from 3 (12/24). Our perimeter defense was just as bad as our post defense.
We hesitate to shoot the 3. I see players making a pump fake on a good shoot, then dribbling once or twice and shooting an off-balance shot. Is our identity shooting the 3 or not?

A lot of open shots were passed up by our players. Shack frustrates the hell out of me driving into a clogged lane hoping he gets fouled or make an off-balanced circus shot.
Agree that losing Primo and also Burnett hurts tremendously. Said it before the season. This is a team that can bury anyone when they are hot from 3 but lose to almost anyone when they are not.

Lack of effort on D cost them this game. That is on the players. Same ole story from you- never criticize certain kids. Always Nate’s fault.
If posters here, you included, never criticized coaches, Alabama would never change coaches. You can't put the blame for lack of effort on one coaching staff but not on another.
It's his job to get them ready to play. It's also his job to come up with plays when your system isn't working. He is coming up short in those areas as of late...
