Game thread: No. 18 Alabama vs. No. 18 Michigan State (Phil Knight Invitational)

At times, this reminds me of those tiny guards from Auburn dribbling down last year and jacking up a 3 before Jabari could even get down the court. We can’t let that happen with Miller. If he doesn’t touch it every possession, it should be 2 out of 3 possessions.

tgey gave the 3 points. A bogus technical and 3 points for a two. Rewatch it. It’s when state had 9 points

Miller and Sears are playing lights out. For a former 5* Burnett needs to get going and be more aggressive.

So somebody explain to me how a call, that has been a charge for 1000 years, is now a flop with a technical? I understand if the defender starts falling prior to contact but how are refs allowed to determine flops after contact at their own discretion? If that had been Sears does he get the call because he's small where as Clowney has to suck it up and go bang for bang?

Need to rebound better in the 2nd half. 5 turnovers so far so good.

If we can find a way to lock down the defensive glass, it’ll make life really tough for them.

I like to bash him at times but got to give the guy props for the work I'm sure he had to put in to reach his current level.
Proud of him and happy for him. That should be expected though, basketball is what he does. And it sure doesn’t mean you can run wide open in a 4 on 1 and shoot the stupidest shot available.

Well we still don’t have an easy way to get the ball in against pressure….

I might have missed it but is Miles injured? If so, what’s his timeline
He has something going on but I don’t think it’s serious. He better be ready when he comes back. These dudes should get some of his minutes regardless.

Final: Alabama 81, Michigan State 70

The Crimson Tide will face UConn in the winner's bracket tomorrow. Alabama moves to 5-0 for the first time since the 2017-18 season.

Love Bill Walton. First he gives Oats credit for the development of Jamychal Green and then he refers to Lewis and Clarke's exploration as "the expedition of a lifetime" as if they hung out in Yosemite for a summer.
He talks constantly about anything that comes to mind

Yeah I'd be a little sick sitting on that bench watching everybody else do their thing. He's just one more talented long kid that defenders are going to have to stay in front of and box out.
