Game Thread: No. 18 Alabama vs. No. 20 UConn (Phil Knight Invitational)

You are wrong in so many ways!!! We had so many turnovers in the first half. That alone was subpar Basketball. And you don’t recover from those habits. Good teams force those turnovers. And UCONN forced them tonight. Same OLE BAMA Basketball

Guess the team should just call it a season then… once you have a bad night of turnovers nothing can be done to fix it

It was the first good team that we’ve played that was at full strength and we got exposed.

Why did we go away from our game plan of shooting 3s all game?
Couldn’t get open. Our zone offense always has issues against teams that are good enough to guard the ball and rebound. And yes I know we are playing against man to man defense but it’s more like a zone offense than it is man to man offense.

Not sure what game you were watching. We shot more free throws than they did. The officials weren’t the issue. Dan Hurley, as much as I despise him, took Oats to school.
Nothing to despise about Hurley. All you do is criticize Oats. Never a word when they win a big game.

Geez y’all are some negative folks lol
Yea we looked bad for most of the game. But it was a strategy they could implement against us due to the fact they had a dominant big man and a 7’2” guy down low as well. We won’t see many bigs as good as he was or as big as the other guy. Y’all just memory dumped the first 5 games I reckon.

I think the team has a ton of potential, but we have to stop hurting ourselves with turnovers. It seemed like when we attacked the basket near the end of the first half and for parts of the second half we had more success and got them in foul trouble. Uconn is absolutely a top 5-10 team and played with a lot more discipline and capitalized on our mistakes overcoming our apparent athletic advantage. I think we will learn from this game and it will help us down the stretch.

Turnovers, not finishing at the basket cost us tremendously but the main difference was that Bama has really great athletes with some basketball skills and UConn has a team full of Basketball players that I think understand the game a little bit better than Bama players right now.
This Bama team will learn from this game and I believe will grow leaps and bounces and further grow in the very very tough SEC this year,
