Reese gets behind every defensive possession leaving it wide open for their offensive rebounds. He's done it for like 4 years now and not smart enough to change. need Bruner back really bad.
we deserved that loss. shack missing free throws any top hs kid would make. herb and petty with 10 combined turnovers. hilarious
OU deserved this win. They played harder. They played a team that loves to shoot the 3 the way you should, they got right up in their jerseys the whole day. They killed Bama on the board.
Rebounding and turnovers were the killer today. Got to get back in sync on offense. 3 straight games now we haven’t had a good flow. Way to battle today I’m not disappointed in the effort.
Yea im ready for Reese to move on. Hits enough threes to keep him on the floor but is a defensive and rebounding liability. Looks in better shape but still loafs around. The only guy i ever see not hustle.
That was not fun. Really need this team back at full strength. Not having Bruner is killing us on the boards. Adding to it by shooting ourselves in the foot.
How about giving a undermanned OU team credit for playing harder and better than Bama. They deserved the win.

they did. but it was handed to them time after time. I still give all credit to oats. Took a bunch good athletes but average basketball players and turned them into a top 10-top 15 team somehow.

Petty and Primo were invisible today. Some of that is OU but even with opportunities they weren't helping.

Im pissed off by the play in the last 3 minutes! Giving away easy points that could have one the game, but Ive seen this outcome coming for two weeks now! Because our offense has been abysmal for 3 straight games!

Started watching when we were down 12 then we come back and take the lead. Then we miss layups and wide open threes. Too many possessions late in the game where we just look like the 3rd string in mop up minutes on offense. Dribbling into double teams. Picking up their dribble. No movement. Saw similar in the UK game we just hit enough shots in the end and played lights out D. The one dude made a hell of a shot their at the end tho. Ellis locked him down and he still made that shot. Damn we need Brunner. If we are gonna make noise in march he needs to not rush coming back. We cant rebound for shit and Herbs gonna kill himself. Still happy with this team tho for coming back
never playing in front of the ball. Hes a bench player and I'm sure hes looking forward to playing 12 minutes again when Bruner is back. Even when he doesn't hedge he will never play in front of the ball and you saw that tonight too
It's tough at the end of close games without a PG that can break the defense down and finish or create for others. JQ can do that but he's obviously struggling right now. We need him.
What I think he means is getting beat in transition cuz hes either not good enough to keep up with his dude or not putting enough effort in. Reese loafs on D, extremely slow feet. I cant say that for anybody else getting meaningful minutes.
He'll be fine. you aren't hurting a meniscus worse. its funny though he's out a month for an injury most players come back in 2 weeks or wait until after the season.
Oklahoma won this game with rebounding. How many 2nd and 3rd chance points did they score.
Like in position in front of the ball. Being able to see the ball while youre guarding your man, not trying to catch up. Youre really stretching sir
We played pretty well on the defensive end but just about everything else was sub par. Too many turnovers, too many missed layups and too many offensive possessions that we didn’t get a good shot. Gotta give credit to Oklahoma, they played hard all game. Now, as bad as we played today, we still had a chance to win the game in the last 4 minutes. I have no doubt the guys will learn from this one. Winning streak had to end at some point. This loss won’t hurt our seeding too much I don’t think. One thing that really sticks out to me, we need to get Bruner back badly. Need his rebounding and leadership
Actually he does when hes in. Because teams smartly pick on him. there's a reason he's boxed out the majority of the time too. hes rarely in good defensive position. he can play 1 good game once in every 10 games. It still doesn't change the fact we will be better off when hes gone
Yeah we aren’t going to win a ton if Reece is our high scorer. Not on him, but didn’t get enough from Petty, Primo and at the end from Shack. Turnovers and offensive rebounds from OK killed us.
That's not what he's talking about. You're talking about elementary defense. This is more complicated than him standing on the block beside his man being able to stare at the ball. He's saying Reese gets beat by his man. He's said it all day. I'm just trying to get him to say it without talking around it, bc it's not true.
Couple that with our desire to turn the ball over on a consistent basis and you have a recipe for disaster.
They put him in ball screens, which everybody puts the other teams bigs in ball screens. But that doesn't mean he guards the ball. He hedges and recovers, he doesn't actually guard it.
I'm also talking about when hes not in ball screens and hes still in bad position too. which is nearly every time. I have no idea how a big who has been playing at this level for 4 years is still this bad on d.
That's less than I thought. I'm guessing giving up 10 second chance points isn't crazy high. But scoring 0 sucks.
Bc he's not as bad as you're saying, that's how. Nobody is saying he's a lockdown guy. But you don't give him any credit for anything. He plays his butt off. Plays through things. He helps this team win, bottom line.
I was a big Reese critic for a long time. Thought he was lazy and the only want to he showed on either end was to shoot the 3.
He's turned it around big time this year. There's been several games where he's done a lot of the little things that has helped us win in a limited role.
