The defense is playing great football especially up front. Every guy who starts and rotates in is doing his his job. The guys up front are getting great pressure. Williams running down Prescott from behind when he got him as he stepped out of bounds showed his speed. I thought he showed great heart chasing him down ..good it was not called a penalty but it was close. That was the only time I can remember where he broke containment and made a big play. The DB's need to catch the ball ... Tony had one or two where he made good plays just catch it.
The offense imo struggled. It was not one person we never seemed to get in a rhythm with the play calling, allowed way to much pressure up the middle ( the worst possible pressure imo) then we dropped balls, then Jake got happy feet seeing ghost maybe and did not go through his reads. Seemed like after a while Lane did not even call plays to force the ball down the field ... probably because we did not show we could block them inside. MSU brought an outside guy inside to rush and we had major trouble trying to touch him.
I think Gary may have a new part time job campaigning for Derrick for the Heisman. Watch the safety have an angle and run by him .. replay it 5 times .. see him run by the DB's replay it time and time again ...he has had his big games against the ranked teams. Derrick needs to have a good game against AU in a win and again against UF in the SECCG ... and it is his award. LF was below a 100 and lost again. Saying without saying it he brought up again about CNS getting all over Brown and now look at how he is playing. Translation to recruit come to BAMA and you will get coached HARD but look at the results.
Losing KD hurts a lot ... he seemed to be getting back to being KD. I am sure many on here want crazy that he was on the field for kick coverage ... but NOT me. I am positive he was much better than the guy behind him so he played .... injuries happen. Our kick coverage has been very good and he is part of the reason why ... pin them back inside and play to your defense.
I have not read the board but as after most games ... I am guessing people were talking about can Lane take the Maryland job at halftime or is he interviewing during the game, Gary and Verne are terrible for whatever reason maybe they do not like Gary leading the Heisman campaign, guessing it was Williams fault KD got hurt, bet we were told Coker stinks ... we maybe a different word .....
In the end yesterday was a good win. We played a good team with a good QB and won handily .... a lot of good teams did not do so well .... Stanford got beat by an average Oregon team, Baylor LOST .... I said last week they were a product of their schedule as was TCU. OSU nearly lost to Iowa State .. could not get up 2 weeks in a row. I did not think our team played with the intensity of last week which was understandable but we still won easily. imo we do not have a great team ... but we may look back and say we had a great defense and that was enough to win it all.
If the top 4 teams win out the ONLY team that can crash the top 4 is OKie State and I do not think they win out.
