I feel a little misled about our incoming kicker

I noticed this line in the article about him on ESPN:

Reichard specializes in kickoffs, but he can kick field goals and punt if needed -- and Alabama might need him to.

I was thinking that we were bringing in a sure-fire field goal kicker to compete for the job, given his ranking as the #1 kicker. Might have to temper my expectations somewhat.
