Jeffrey and I were talking with a prospective LB the other day. He asked us what this staff values most in a LB. I said that Will, in particular, wants savages who bust their ass every single day they're on a field. Game field? Practice field? They're one in the same to Will. He wants passion. He wants tone-setting hitters who use those hits to embolden and empower their teams.
The kid nodded. He knows players like that.
Mack Wilson isn't that player right now. Does he have time and/or room to develop? Absolutely. But that's not where he is right now.
So, yes, if what we have right now is The Mack Wilson, he's not a good fit for what Will Muschamp wants to do with this defense. That's a fully defensible and rational position IMO.
