It's been really quiet on the Grant Nelson front.

If it is short term money Nelson is after, Alabama cannot match Arkansas in a bidding war. If it is long term money Nelson is after, no one can match Alabama as a landing spot. Nelson will have the stage to himself at Alabama and a chance to be the star, versus one of the stars at Arkansas. So in short all of this depends on can Nelson do what he has to do academically and what does he want long term.

Just for reference, it appears that the number 73 prospect in 2022, became a top 25 draft prospect in the Thursday NBA Draft and the number 2 prospect might fall to a top 25 prospect. The difference is that #2 went to Arkansas and #73 went to Alabama.

Exactly. People need to stop panicking on Nelson. He's got to get eligible to transfer first.

His professor could make this summer class extremely hard and keep him and NDSU…

It’s somewhat shocking he has to take some class to get approved to transfer. This just goes to show the benefits of having a structured academic support staff that these big conference schools have the funds for. Grant would most likely have already graduated from Bama after 3 years with Bama’s support staff in place.

IIRC Jimbo and FSU pulled something similar to this with Coker. Instead of transferring in Jan or even in May he had to wait until late July to have finished graduating from FSU so he could transfer. It likely cost him the starting job that fall as he only had a few weeks to get acclimated to T-Town and the team.
