Both were on the local radio. Randle had been cut by the TB Bucs and was trying to catch on with the Vikings. They told him he had to get up to 250, he was at 244, and he was ready to report and he was 244 so he and a friend were in a hardware store and he noticed a chain .... so he had a thick chain cut to fit him and bought a pad lock. He put it on under his sweats and got on the scale at 250 ... and a HOF career was born. Imagine saying a kid is not tall enough or big enough ..... Randle was special.
Randle spoke about Tony Boselli and said in watching film he saw Tony dominate Bruce Smith who was his friend and he said no one can do that to Bruce ... so he asked his coach to move him out against Tony when the Vikings played the Jags.... he said as soon as he saw Tony across from him he thought this was dumb. Said Tony was the best he faced .. mean.
John Hannah was also on and he is doing well peddling new knees and working his ranch. He said Boselli was the best OL he saw along with Munoz. Boselli was on later and he has always said Munoz and John were 1a and 1b. You could tell it meant a lot to Tony because he does not know John and to have John, one of the 2 best ever, recognize him was special.
I was fortunate to watch all 3 play .... great players.
