So it’s being reported that 2024 combo guard Labaron Philon, #1 prospect in the state of Alabama, is going to announce his commitment on Friday.

I just put in a futurecast for Auburn for Philon. I’m pretty surprised he is announcing this early, but that is why I know that it won’t be Alabama.

Alabama is recruiting Dink Pate really hard as well as others that are higher up the board than Philon supposedly. I really like Labaron and he’s a terrific player, but lets see what Oats and co. can do with this loaded 2024 class

I don’t think either Alabama or Auburn view Philon as a PG. more of a combo guy. I could see Auburn landing both, but could be a sign they miss on Pettiford

That would be surprising and disappointing if Philon announces for sweat hogs team. We usually get who we want in state, regardless of who our head coach is. I can't even recall the last time we lost a head to head recruiting battle for an in state player against the boogs.

I like Pate a lot more than Philon, so if Alabama were to land Pate then it would be a good trade.

I like Pate's game also, but I really hoped Oats would pursue Philon. I wanted him at Bama. I like to get the top line in state players.

i think all of us like pate better. as far as philon, a lot of time before signing day.
