*** MISSISSIPPI STATE GAME THREAD

Why can’t we get the fvcking ball in bounds this year

Our inbounds are weak as water … it’s almost Avery Johnson like
If bama can’t simply get the ball in, bama deserves its fate
That is coaching
It’s the same when teams are full court man and denying. All it takes it one screen, up and away from the ball. They don’t switch the first guy is open. They do switch the screener turns and seals. We literally do nothing but run around.

My middle school and high school teams ran better sets than bama does …

When bama inbounds, in the first two seconds nothing happens and then in the next three seconds
NOTHING HAPPENS AGAIN

Currently Vandy is up 14-4 on Auburn at Auburn. I know it won’t last but I’m going to enjoy it while it does.

Really glad to get the win tonight…mixed bag of playing well and rough outing by various guys, but got the W so on to the next one.

We want it to mirror our half court offense where we do lots of standing around.

It’s weird last year I thought we had this issue fixed. Inbounds play seems strictly coaching so I don’t get how last years team could execute them without issue and this years can’t

It’d help if we run some. We just stand there and try to lob it over the top most of the time.

You almost have to want to get a tech at this level, much less thrown out. If you get thrown out, you wanted it.
Maybe Oats was like me and just couldn’t watch. I just walk out into the concourse and listened to the crowd. Saturday and tonight make me eat Tums!

How the heck did Pippen end up at Vandy? I wish we had him. He just dunked it all over that big 44 for Auburn.

Problem is 9 of 14 fouls up to that point had been called on Miss St. And Bama was up 3 and at the line. Timing on T’s were bad.
Yea I agree. But they were actually fouling and the refs stopped calling it.. he was mainly pissed about the no call double dribble lol. I think he wanted to light a fire under the team more than make a point to the refs. It was risky but… seemed to work

A good thing the sub coach stuck with the grouping on the floor. I see Ellis (although our best FT shooter) did not return. JD, JQ, and Bediako did pretty good tonight.

Better question/ why is Jabari Smith at Auburn and why does Bruce Pearl have all his starters in up 20 at the 3 minute mark?

Can’t blame it on officiating, it’s been bad on both ends all year. That one he was crying about wasn’t a foul, MSU player may have gotten a couple fingers on him long after the ball was gone.
Man… you really hate this guy. I know you say you don’t and you probably genuinely believe you don’t… but it’s fairly obvious you do and I have no idea why. If you actually believe Keon wasn’t raked across the arm on that shot right after he was called for a foul on the other end I don’t know what to tell you.

I don’t hate anyone, and I don’t believe that’s a foul. I hate the player that cry foul when someone barely graze them well after that ball is gone. It don’t have any affect on the shot and he wasn’t knocked to the ground. The one on the other end I felt was a foul because Ellis hit his arm as he was releasing the ball.

Even if it was a foul, that doesn’t excuse getting T’ed up two times near the end of a close game.

Ellis was out there when the ball went off Shaq with under 30 seconds to play. Again, I think it's stupid Bama doesn't run plays to get it to him in that situation. It baffles me that Bama will run plays to get the ball in JQ and Shaq hands when they are in the low to mid-70s while Ellis is an 88% shooter.

I kept looking for Ellis at the end and I didn't see him, but it would make sense to have your best FT shooter in there; however, his shooting overall for the night was pretty bad.

Yeah, he was put there. I recall seeing him on the block while they shot their FT; I thought we did that so if they missed, he could grab the rebound and get fouled. But we they made the FT he went all the way down the court and we ran a play to get it to either Shaq or JQ.

Ellis had a terrible night shooting, but you can count on him making this FT.and that's what is needed at the end of these close games.

Agreed. Thank God Miles came through at the end with the FTs. To be honest, I was afraid they would foul JQ or Shack and put them on the FT line. JQ had an excellent game so he might have come through this time.
