Oats: "Felt like we finally got a win where we feel like our offense wasn't great. It was more about toughness and grit. I'm really proud of our guys."
Oats: "We've had terrible starts to games, terrible starts to halves."
Oats seems to be keeping a keen eye on the SEC standings. Reminded the media that Alabama still gets to play Tennessee and Auburn again. Both teams are tied with Alabama atop the SEC standings.
On LSU: "They got a big boost when (Jalen) Cook was able to play this year. Jordan Wright is very familiar with this league." Said he thought LSU is much improved.
On Jarin Stevenson: "He's got more confidence, he's playing more aggressive... defensively he's playing with more of an edge. He's got a lot of sense of urgency about him... for a kid that's supposed to be playing in high school he's come a long way and he's playing really well right now."
On finishing the game against Auburn: "I think for the most part we executed really well... I think some guys got some confidence we can use." Added that Stevenson got some confidence being out there late in the game.
On Alabama's upcoming games: "I think you need confidence on both sides of the ball... We haven't had any of those yet... "At some point here when we're playing teams we know we're better than we need to have a dominating win."
On homecourt dominance: "It helps we have some really good players." Also said the crowd can be one of the best in the SEC when it's rocking. "Jay Williams saw that Wednesday."
Oats said he still hasn't figured out what he's going to do for the lineup against LSU: "We may make a change... "We have to have a better start. The group that's started pretty much every game hasn't been able to provide us the starts we need so we'll discuss that as a staff and figure something out."
Oats: "I've learned a long time ago to tune the crowd out... I don't think I want to hear about what they're saying about me all the time."
