In a new weekly feature on Rivals.com, we take a look at the weekend’s standout performances from both college and pro football and pick one player from each star rankings group to spotlight.
This week's five-star was Damien Harris. You can read the complete feature here.
Damien Harris
Recruiting revisited: There aren’t many five-stars from the state of Kentucky, but Harris is well on his way to showing he was more than deserving of his five-star ranking in the class of 2015. After initially committing to Michigan during the Brady Hoke era, Harris flirted with in-state program Kentucky for months, only to announce for Alabama and go on to sign with the Tide.
What he did this week: Harris continues to shine as Derrick Henry’s successor, rushing for 144 yards on just 16 carries in Alabama’s 48-43 victory over Ole Miss on Saturday. He has already more than doubled his output for his entire freshman year in just three games this season and is averaging an incredible 9.1 yards per carry.
