I would like to know if Harper knows anything about that situation and confidence level going worth about the rest of the basketball season.
Only way we won last night was with JQ and Shack having good games.Bruner wasnt bad. Thats what I said Sunday. We cant count on Herb being consistent on the offensive end.
(Even though I realize we must have him on the floor)

Idk what the rumor is but there are people tweeting that it is about to get bad. Hopefully they are all misinformed.

Somebody needs to spill the beans. Even the CIA has leaks! 👍🍻

Meh. Not buying it. If Oats had called Petty a racial slur then the rest of the team would have boycotted the game and the assistants would have to turn Oats in to higher authority. This has attitude and maybe some ganja issues written all over it.

I can promise you there were no racial slurs involved and it is not serious at all. A fake rumor was started on an Auburn forum and people ran with it.

you think we will get any indication from oats about what the suspensions were for? Especially due to the Rumors being spread?

I'm sure he just wanted Petty to get some rest since he's been giving 110% on the court every game so far. LOL.

Point out something in particular you’ve seen from him that shows a lack of effort? Seriously... he’s an elite defender and I’ve not seen him give less than everything since his frosh year. Are there any specifics?
Did you miss the game last year when he was benched for lack of effort?

I get that he has made a ton of progress on defense and on the boards. But to make a living in this business, he needed to make up for his inconsistent, underachieving offense that is counted on.
IMO, he struggles with the mental aspects and Oats will regret keeping him in the mix as a leader while developing this new roster.

He was benched last year because he was going through the motions in practice and was showing attitude. He owned it and took it in stride. Supported Oats for the decision.
So you acknowledge, as a junior, he was " going through the motions in practice and was showing attitude"
Do you think there is a relationship with this year? Or was Nate just overreacting?

Oh I’m sure something happened in practice... no doubt. But the claims are that he pouts in games and doesn’t play hard on both ends if his shots aren’t falling. That’s bogus. It’s no secret he’s a bit of a head case and has shown that to both coaches. But in terms of his effort in games, it’s there all the time. Also, people acting like he’s purely a spot up shooter clearly aren’t watching both ends of the floor.

I’m not trying to be snarky, but you seem to know the game pretty well.I’m just a casual fan of the game, never played, but Petty is possibly the worst ball handler I have ever seen that is an all-conference guard. I realize his handle has gotten better, but what do you think causes him to be so awful at handling the ball? Is in lack of effort in developing that part of his game or something else?

Ball handling is improved with lots of work and the use of proper fundamentals

I'm going to disagree. John petty can play really good defence but he does it in short spurts or even one possession at a time period

Defence is a mindset maybe almost even almost a life style and you don't take a possession off

I guess we’re gonna have to agree to disagree. I agree with everything you say about defense but I haven’t seen him take possessions off

Definitely a weakness in his game, but it’s improved dramatically over the years.

Hes the only player on the team that happened to. That 110% at all times is flat wrong.

As a junior, he was " going through the motions in practice and was showing attitude" . "And he's is a bit of a head case." And got suspended again this year. Oats has a new group and needs to build a winning attitude. Petty is not the good example.
