4 bama players drafted in round 1 is the o/u.

Fitz is a lock
Payne, Evans, Ridley should all go mid-late first round.

I will say every year a bama player falls down the board - Jonathan Allen was talked about as a top 5 talent last year and fell all the way to late teens. Ragland and Ashawn both ended up going round 2. Could Ridley be that guy this year? I think a weak WR class keeps him in round 1.,

Fitz - to Tampa or to the San Fran in the first, Ridley to Carolina or Dallas, Payne to Washington or Atlanta, Evans to New England or Pittsburgh, Harrison to New England or Philly. but could slip to the second if New England or Philly trade the 31st or 32nd picks to team for a QB.

Why do you think a guy like Ridley has been mentioned as falling in the draft?

Because he doesn’t have ideal size to be on the outside, so slot is a more likely option, Christian Kirk would be my first guy, Ridley May not fall out of the first, I’m guessing he is a late first

I’m a big falcons fan, would love to have him in the slot with Julio and Sanu on the outside, but they are going Dline first, hoping they move up and get Payne

As @tyman49 stated he really doesn't have ideal size to play outside and be a #1 guy. To add to that he'll turn 24 before the year is over. Amari is only 5 months older.

I think a weak WR draft keeps him in the first round, because like it or not, he's the best of the lot and is going to be an overnight millionaire. I do think he could be the last of four first round picks for the Tide, behind Minkah, Payne and Rashaan. Harrison could sneak in round one, but I bet he's round two.

Just my opinion but I like Christian Kirk over Ridley, I think he’ll have a better overall career, mainly because Kirk will be a special teams nightmare as well as a starting receiver

Kirk is not as good a receiver, IMO, as Ridley. Better ST guy though.

I hope I’m wrong big guy I just think Ridley will be a bust unless he goes somewhere where he can be a slot and not have to carry the work load of a WR1, like I said in the other post if he could go somewhere like Atlanta where Julio and Sanu can be on the outside and get most of the attention of the defense, Ridley can flourish

Why do you think a guy like Ridley has been mentioned as falling in the draft?
  • does not have elite speed for a 188 lb guy
  • doesn't come across as a really smart fella in interviews
  • incredibly poor vertical and broad jumps (supposedly the new cool metric the NFL uses to equate future NFL WR success, i think Rid's was worst or 2nd worst combined at position? someone can verify that)
  • very small frame and short arms (one of smallest wingspans at combine)
  • same age as Cooper who is entering 4th year in NFL
age means he needs to be productive immediately or he's a bad pick and with average speed, below average size, and really poor jumping ability the only reason he gets picked in 1st round is because it's the worst year for WR in history of the draft

Ridley is sooo smooth he makes a baby's butt feel coarse.
There is not a better route runner ,cuts on a dime and breaks a lot of ankles.
If he'd had a quarterback instead of a running back throwing to him, there's
no telling what his stats might have been.Just has that IT factor.

I agree with you. I watched some highlights of his freshman year and he and Jacob Coker were quite the duo. I believe that he goes in the first round.

I LOVE Ridley, but think he may struggle against elite corners, even though he can abuse mediocre guys. Late first or early second fits him. He's still elite as hell. Just think I would go a different route with a top 20 selection.

Agreed, even though I worry about expectations. Hope he is great at the next level.
