Nico and Tennessee

Tennessee told him to kick rocks.

100.gif

"That story remains unfinished, still yet to be determined, but the first few years have been a gigantic bust, with the latest twist being Saturday's news that Tennessee is parting ways with Nico Iamaleava over a reported NIL dispute."

This is really bad for the Vols, especially the timing. Yeah, I know, snicker, laugh, its happening to Tennessee. But this could easily happen to Bama too down the road. It's complete bullsh*t. Maybe if he'd led the Vols to the National title game. But even so, why wait until this late in the spring to renegotiate? I guess for leverage. I for one am glad Tennessee is telling him to go away.
Why? Complete greed from mom, dad and Uncle Julio. Lottery ticket.

The “ transfer of wealth” agenda. Loud and Proud.
You found your new key words but have zero clue what that means. I guess McDonalds giving you a $1.25 raise because you’re pretty good a flipping burgers is a “transfer of wealth”.

Paying someone their value and more importantly understanding your value is called capitalism. It’s no one else fault but your own that you didn’t make much of your life.

Hey dipshit/ I have more money in my retirement account than you have ever seen or will see in your life. Worked 34 years for 2 Fortune 500 companies and I am beyond financially comfortable.
Sucks to be wrong- and you are that on a regular basis. Get your panties out of your mouth. Stop embarrassing yourself Mr Ego Dumbass.

Hey lying dipshit, McDonalds is a Fortune 500 company. So is Pizza Hut, likely your other Fortune 500 company you worked for…

Lol no. No it’s not fine.
So CFB making more money and having higher TV ratings than before isn’t a sign that the sport is fine? lol. Ok tell me what is needed for the sport to be “fine”. Because it’s an entertainment and people are not only watching but spending money on it to watch it.

Nico really screwed himself and CFB players everywhere. According to ESPN Notre Dame, USC and UCLA are the 3 schools where he will most likely end up. Can you imagine how disruptive signing Nico for what he was being paid can be to a team? He may have potential but he has yet to prove himself worthy of 2.4 million. JMO…but my guess is whoever signs him offers half or less than half of what he was making. UT did CFB a great service when they cut him loose. The precedent has been set…let’s see how the rest of CFB reacts moving forward.

Meh, how often do coaches use the leverage of other programs wanting them to get a pay raise. Texas came calling for Nick, pay raise. Kentucky has interest in Nate, pay raise even after signing a pay raise just earlier that year. You’re worth whatever someone is willing to pay you, period…
Except the article says that Nico’s agent reached out to Oregon, who declined. A school didn’t approach him, Nico has been trying to get more since the beginning of the year. Anyone can go to their boss and ask for a raise, but if they tell you no you better find a new job before you just stop coming to work….or just accept that your current pay is all you’re going get.

You have no idea what you are talking about or who you are conversing with when it comes to me. None.

It’s fine for you because the basically white bow tie wearing administrations of these big schools are now being forced to coddle these kids and greedy ass parents if they want to win. It’s fine for you because you want basically minority kids and their families to benefit at a ridiculous level.
You dig your hole deeper every time you respond to this topic.

I 100% want the kids who are the main reason that CFB is so profitable to benefit, unlike you I don’t care about the skin college of the student profiting. I’m sorry the plantation mentality is a thing of the past…

Anyone with any sort of sense knows the current situation is a dumpster fire and not sustainable. Having a holdout in cfb is just another example in the continuing deterioration of the sport. It has to change

yall been saying this for years, yet ratings and interest keeps going up.

Do you not remember all the articles written when Alabama hired Saban at a whopping 4 million dollars a year? The “This is the death of college athletics” narrative that went around on sports talks shows and websites. You may not like the current trajectory of the sport but as long as the dollars are coming in, it will be just fine.

Post reeks of jealousy. BTW, very few kids playing college football ever seen anything remotely close to a million dollars. And these kids are just now starting to get their fair share of the revenue they create.

That clown only sees color, it’s evident in all his posts. The sad part is when NIL first started I showed him how college athletics is still majority white, 60% to 20%, but because the bigger sports have a large number of minorities who are now getting paid, he would rather no one get paid.

Sorry if this is already been covered cause I didn’t read every post. But don’t you think Nico wanted it out of Tennessee? I mean he asked for 4 million and as I understand it a $4 million car? I mean considering his status as just an OK quarterback, don’t you think that’s outrageous to request such a thing? It doesn’t seem like to me he ever intended to stay at Tennessee.

its just funny how they keep saying the sky is falling and blaming the kids and their parents.
last i checked you can still get the same injuries in college as you can in the pros.
that plantation mentality has been passed down from one generation to the other and it still remains strong.
they keep saying the sky is falling when it comes to the health of the sport but the ratings and revenues only suggest their small minded ideas are whats weakening. while i dont like how some of these kids go about it, i understand because the adults in the building are just as shady( if not more) and sometimes you just have to stoop to their level

Get the crap off-campus and have those who want to get paid to play build a minor league for the NFL, run by the NFL.

This NIL nonsense is out of place, already shown to be corrupt and destructive.

I’d be perfectly happy watching non-scholarship kids play football D-3 style.

You can go watch D-3 style, nothing is stopping you. But I hate to tell you, even DIII are giving out some form of NIL, just at a much lower level. Maybe you would be more comfortable watching HS.

then shut up and go watch friday night lights buddy.
unlike the rules that keep someone like jeremiah smith in college for two more years when he would be a top 5 pick if he were allowed to come out this year, no one is making you do anything but cry

Yeah it makes no sense, revenue and rating are continually increasing yet they say the game is in trouble. They are adding more playoff games to increase revenue, not giving one care about the ‘student’ part of student-athlete. The only time the game will be in trouble is when interest and money decrease.

Show me where the “excuse” is in my statement. What I said about coaches is facts and players are now getting paid which you very well know. So if you’re paying someone there is always the possibility of renegotiating the terms of your agreement. Something coaches have done forever. Get use to it, no amount crying you do in every single post is going to change that.
Coaches sign contracts. Usually with buy outs. It’s in no way comparable to the portal. This is the lamest argument that a lot of people make for the current environment in college athletics. It’s so stupid

They do sign contracts and a lot of the time don’t honor those contracts. They negotiate for more money when they win or when someone shows interest. College athletes sign contracts as well. The difference is they are one year scholarships that have to be renewed every year. Coaches had the opportunity to sign players to a 4 year scholarship but they DID NOT WANT to do that. Why, because if a player didn’t work out they could “process” them to make room for a better player.

Now the tables have turned and they want to complain, spare me. So again there isn’t much of a difference, college athletics has always been a big time business and the players are now getting in one it. Save the crying for something else.

I would lol too if didn’t have a halfway decent rebuttal. Nothing I wrote was false in anyway.
It’s all about African American kids and their families making bank for you and a couple of your “ posse”. If the top schools were not 70% African American player wise you would not even comment on the subject. Deny that if you will.

Well when CFB starts to gradually lose money instead of increasing its revenue like it’s doing, I will start to change my stance. But you don’t see many multi billion dollar companies just up and go bankrupt…

I know people that have been college football fans for 50 years losing interest in the game. Just as I lost interest in professional football. I believe you will see a decline in revenue and interest over the next 5 years. But in the words of the poet “The Hag”… “ Everything does change except what we choose to recall”. As for me. I didn’t realize there is a fall turkey season.
