Herb is a great player that makes really bad plays on offense some of the time.... occasionally in bunches. He’s not a good shooter and struggles to finish, but some of that is bc he is forcing a shot he shouldn’t be taking. Even with the negatives he is a great player that is constantly doing things that help us win. One of the best defensive players I’ve ever seen

He is never a “no show.” It’s a bit ridiculous to not see the value he brings to this team. There’s also no reason to ignore his offensive issues.

i have posted things about players that i should not have. that said i have never had a problem with jones effort and defense. he and shack have got to quit forceing things on offence and getting into foul trouble. bama is at its best moving the ball and shooting open threes. i know it is eaiser said than done or everybody would do it. i think we got a big run in us coming in the big tourney roll tide.

Herb is the MVP of this team and the league and everyone knows and respects this. After the game Herb noted that we started off slow and we all know that slow starts, poor shooting and herb getting in foul trouble are where our team can improve. It is amazing that we keep competing and winning while not playing our best and this is why we believe we are capable of beating anyone. From our experience in football playoffs, we know of margin for error for winning reduces as we approach the ultimate goal. If this team wants to reach the heights of their potential in the tourney, the team leaders will need to lead to continue to become their best. Hopefully, we will come out today looking more like Friday than yesterday, and build momentum of playing to our potential. I expect Herb and Nate would agree. I do not think this was a unreasonable thread.

I said last year Herb would play a long time in the NBA .... nothing has changed my mind .. he may have changed some others.

Last year I said imo EVERY NBA team needs a guy who is UNSELFISH and will do the little things and will play defense.

When you say no show Jones, are we talking about Mike Jones (also known as @milso47) or Herb Jones being a No-Show?

Do you honestly think Herb is an effective point guard? I think Oats buys some time by doing this and resting Quinnerly. But the turnovers and non finishes at the rim drive me nuts. Herb played well 2nd half- but not at point.

I remember Wimp used Robert Horry to bring the ball up the court. When you have a big that can handle the ball, obviously not as well as a PG, but it sure helps trigger a fast break when you have someone with that ability.

Contrary to popular belief I have a ton of respect for Herb Jones. Guy gives 100% for 40 minutes/ which is rare today. And he played great yesterday in the final. Just looks out of position at the point. Did not see him there much yesterday.
