I realize that 1 bad season does not define a coach and that Eric Musselman is indeed a really good basketball coach, but the constant talk that we heard (some in our own fan base) that Musselman was a better coach than Oats just does not hold water right now. In the five years since Oats and Musselman arrived here are the numbers.
Championships:
Oats 4 (2 regular season and 2 tourney)
Muss 0
Overall:
Oats 107-48 (69%)
Muss 106-52 (67%)
SEC:
Oats 56-24 (70%)
Muss 43-36 (54%)
Head to head)
Oats 4-3 (3 straight)
Worth mentioning that Oats has done this at what is perceived a football school while Musselman has done it at what is perceived a basketball school.
ROLL TIDE!!!!
