***OFFICIAL Washington at Alabama softball super regional thread***

Alabama gets a walk but goes down in order top six, with pinch runner Rachel Bobo being thrown out on a steal attempt.

Watching this #27 pitcher reminds me of watching Glavine for the Braves. The pitches don't look like they are just burning in there, but the placement, speed, and movement keeps the batters so off balance they don't know whats coming.

Osorio strikes out 8, including the last 4 batters she faced in order, to send Alabama to OKC for the Women's College World Series.

UA will play Oklahoma on Thursday at a time TBD, but I'm betting prime time.

Awesome game by Alexis. She has regained her tenacity on the mound.

Love this line by Tommy:
Osorio strikes her out with the high, stinkin' cheese.

Sitting right behind home plate on the second row, Washington #1 didn't seem concerned about the "hit by a pitch" injury until coach came out and then was "much " more bothered. Of course, if it had worked and got her on base it would have been a great play by Huskies. Thought both nights the crowd really caused the Tide to rise to the occasion and affected Washington during clutch times.

That sign in the outfield says "Best Softball Fans in the Country."

It's true.

The crowd was even more into this game than Friday and Friday's crowd was very loud. It might have been helped by Emily being on hand to lead the cheering. It was a great to see the Rhoads house jammed. It was the largest crowd (people in the stadium) that I have seen all year. My wife and I were so happy with the outcome because we were concerned that we could not handle the stress of a second game. Alexis was a real "gamer". After throwing 156 pitches on Friday, to come back in a pressure situation and perform like she did was just amazing. Whatever has taken place with her over the last two weeks to get to where she is now (which is total dominance) is just what the team needs. Without her current high level of pitching, we would not be in the CWS. She gives the team a chance to win whenever she is pitching likes she is now. It was a great series sweep by the ladies of a team that had some real offensive firepower. Let's go to OKC and see what happens. You never know what can happen when a round ball meets a round bat.
