Anybody know anything about these teams? I figured they’d be good enough to actually play the game. They may only score 6 against Ramsay too but Ramsay won’t hold it.

Many years ago I played on a high school team and we lost to a rival team by about 40 points twice in the regular season. Played them in the regional tournament, held the ball and had a chance to win. Lost 8-6. We were way overmatched but the stupid coach sat in a zone defense and let us hold the ball

The extreme version of Wimp's strategy against Loyola Marymount. Open fast breaks and our guys would not take the layup but wait on everyone to catch up. Wimp WAS NOT gonna run with them.

I remember in the years before the shot clock when Alabama State had a great team and went to play across town at AUM. Coach Larry Chapman let it be known that he was gonna slow it down. I think the final score with ASU winning was low, something like 28-23. Compare that to the Troy-Devry game when coach Maestri said it was gonna set a record for scoring. It did. 258-141. What a show it was!

I’d love to know why they did this. Neither one of them are just awful and had to do this to beat the other. The winner of this game plays Ramsay today. Ramsay beat both of these teams in the regular season but not so bad that either of these teams couldn’t beat them. And I’m not sure how holding the ball in this game would help against Ramsay. The last time Parker/Carver played it was 69-60. I wish someone knew the story, seems plain stupid.
