It wasn’t the prettiest of games, but not all of them are. If you liked great offense, and poor defense, then this game was for you! Regardless, this was a game Alabama needed to stay in contention for a conference title. I also love fans complaining about things in a game we won on the road vs a top 15 opponent. Let’s you know how much this programs expectations have changed!
In this game, Chris Youngblood finally showed why he was such a highly touted transfer. He went 7/10 3 and was the difference for the Tide. Seems like it’s a different player every game for the Tide recently, which is how it is for elite teams. The defense was sloppy, particularly on ball screens, but give credit to Josh Hubbard who hit a lot of tough shots. He’s a baller.
Alabama has an incredibly tough stretch coming up to end the conference slate, but this kind of win shows that they will be there at the end. They’re so deep and talented, that it’s so difficult to put this team away. Their defense is better than perceived and the numbers back it up. Alabama is also one of the more unlucky teams on the defensive end as well. Have to hope positive regression starts to happen soon.
