Alabama hasn’t lost to Ole Miss at home since 2017, and it was not a pretty one. The players did not value the basketball, the coaches did not prepare very well, and that accumulated to the product you saw on the floor last night.
I did not get to watch the game when it happened (coached a high school game), but I rewatched and regretted my decision lol. It was such an ugly game, it reminded me of the Oklahoma game a couple years ago. That team won the SEC btw. Every team has these games. Tennessee just lost to Florida by 30. Kentucky lost to UGa. Heck, Florida just lost at home to a lot worse Missouri team. It’s how you respond that matters, but in the SEC you don’t have much time to. Alabama plays at Kentucky next which will be another big test.
This team has a tough schedule, but this is a tough team. Even with 21 turnovers and taking 23 less shots they had a chance to win in the end. They just couldn’t make or get good shots. Give credit to Coach Beard who is a defensive mastermind and has a good team he coaches.
I’m not worried in the least bit. I thought going into the season at worst they’d be 12-6 in conference and I still think that. I think they’ll go 14-4/13-5 though. Just have to keep getting better.
