Something to keep an eye on this weekend with the running back position. It's well known the staff wants to add another RB in the 2025 class along with Akilyn Dear. The two prospects in focus are Jace Clarizio (Michigan St. commit) and Harry Dalton (USC commit).
You will remember Clarizio took an official visit to Bama for the Mercer game and from all accounts the visit went very well. As Jack reported, Clarizio was quickly back at Michigan State on Friday but was also seen wearing Alabama gloves at his high school practice. So somewhat conflicting news. However, the Spartans just recently pushed to get Western Michigan RB commit Zion Gist on campus for an official visit this past weekend and pressed for him to flip his commitment, which Gist quickly did. Were the Spartans always planning to take another RB in this class or was this a move to hedge against an impending flip from Clarizio?
Harry Dalton took his official visit to Tuscaloosa back on 6/14 only to commit to USC the following weekend. But the Trojans haven't had the season almost everyone (excluding me) thought they would have so a lot of commits have been recently jumping ship. Just today, Duane Morris flipped his commitment from USC to Tennessee, leaving Dalton as the lone RB commit in the Trojan class. But Dalton is supposed to visit Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl this weekend, which has to make Riley and staff very nervous about the Tide's chances of flipping his commitment so close to the ESD.
