Each referee has a position on the field. The head linesman’s job is to maintain the line of scrimmage. He does not move until the line of scrimmage moves. At least four times I saw him out of position. That is the cause of the illegal forward passes. Obviously if he moves the player is beyond the line. That is how the QB knows the line and you know the grounding call. The calls went 2-2, so no one gained the advantage, but the official should be sent back to High School.
